The river is among the 28 finalists for the 7 new natural wonders of the world, selected from an initial list of 77. Not only will this distinction promote global tourism to the site, which will generate us income, it will also promote conservation and environmental awareness in the country.
Located about 50 km north of Puerto Princesa, it is an 8.2 km navigable underground river that features a limestone karst mountain landscape. It is famed to be the world's longest.
